Re S. S. Nam Hoi".
¿REC REG 4 JUN 18) On the 27th, day of April, 1917, my client
Mr. Young Hee purchased for $95,000.00 the above British Steamship which is registered in the Harbour Office under the No. 95858. The full particulars of the said ship are annered hereto.
As will be seen, the Steamer is merely a river boat and absolutely useless for ocem-ping. In view or the afet that the owner is losing a large sum of money monthly and because of his inability to sell the said ship to any other than a British subject, I am requested to ask if you will be so kind as to cable to the Board of Trade in Ingland for permission to change the flag from British into Chinese.

I will of course pay for the cable which I should like to be as full as possible. This, of course, not a precedent as it has been done in the foregoing cases, namely, the "Lin Tan", the "Samui", the "Nanning" and the "Sai Nam".
I have etc..

The Hon. The Colonial Secretary.
